I’m not the biggest jam/jelly fan but this picture really made me wish I had some toast or scones near by. YUMMMMM it looks soooo good!
Apparently this is a recipe from Alton Brown’s Good Eats and even though I’ve always known that preserves had a ton of sugar in it….but almost 4lb of sugar? WOAH! Apparently the sugar in preserves helps well.. preserve the fruit. Where did I learn that you ask? From Chow.com’s YouTube video about Jam. This video is filed under the playlist Obsessives and I LOVE that playlist!
So if all this talk about yummy jam has inspired you to make some, be sure to checkout Tom’s blog to see his experience on recreating this awesome marmalade cause he’s got some great tips. Don’t forget to thank him for such a yummy photo!

Well I just got my new camera yesterday (Christmas gift from Jon…it was backordered) and I LOVE IT! I feel horribly spoiled and actually hesitated to even open the box cause I kept wanting to return it, but now that it’s opened…I’m super excited to use it!!!
After charging the battery for a few hours, I threw on my lens and found the best test subject in the world…Neo. I know, this video isn’t terribly fascinating but it’s fun and I like it.. lol. I was manually focusing with my left hand (I’m a righty) so that’s why it’s blurry 90% of the time.. ahahahahahah sorry…

Lately Jon and I have been trying to clean out the house since it’s a new year and going through my old stuff has reminded me of when I had a pet cockatiel named “Baby”. My brother bought her and 2 of her buddies home from a local breeder and she was one cool bird. She was handfed so she was super tame and very sweet. She was all yellow and had red eyes and cute red cheeks. Thinking back I can remember that she loved being on my shoulders while I did my homework and have me scratch the back of her head whenever I took a break. I even took her outside sometimes to get mail and she’d just stay on my shoulders.
While I was visiting Taiwan, with my mom the summer before 8th grade, my brother accidentally let her fly outside and when he went to get her she just flew away. Not knowing what happened, I had a strange dream that same week about Baby. In the dream, I was at a lake and I saw her, but when I went to go get her she flew away from me. My brother wouldn’t have told us till we got back from Taiwan, but because of that dream…we called home and my brother had to tell me the bad news… ehh…
Anyhoo…since I’ve been reminiscing about Baby and the other cockatiels we had…I decided to search Youtube to find some fun cockatiel videos that would cheer me up.

P.S. One funny thing I’ve noticed after watching a ton of singing cockatiel videos from YouTube is that whenever there’s a video of a cockatiel singing and there’s another bird in the video….the other one is always freaked out, trying to get away, or seems very annoyed….LOL

I just love watching shows that highlight fun and funky local places! Sooo..for all you California peeps, checkout California’s Gold. It airs on KCET and I just love watching the show because Huell Howser (the host) goes to all these different places that I would never know about if he didn’t feature it.
One day while I was watching the show (and fishing in Warcraft) I saw that Huell decided to do a special on a dairy farm. Apparently this dairy farm has a really popular seasonal item and it’s their egg nog. As Huell was showing the process of making the sweet drink, it reminded me of a place Jon had mentioned going to while he was on duty. Turns out, it was the same place!
Broguiere’s Farm Fresh Dairy is located at 505 S. Maple Ave, Montebello CA 90640 and since its a quick 15 minute drive for us, we decided to check it out before they stopped selling their famous egg nog. The place is a small drive up stand and you can stay in your car while you let them know what you need. They have everything from eggs, butter, milk, chocolate milk, egg nog, and even cottage cheese. We decided to pickup a lowfat milk, chocolate milk, and of course their egg nog. You can buy the drinks in plastic bottles but of course we opted for the authentic milk bottles.
As soon as we got home I had to break out our mugs and taste everything we purchased. Their milk is very tastey and slightly sweet, their choclate milk was actually not that sweet and had a great smooth chocolate flavor, and their egg nog was very rich and reminded me of a just melted shake…yummy and so thick and smooth!
So… check them out when you can before the holiday season is over and for those of you that don’t live close to Montebello, checkout Pavilions cause I think they also carries their products.

Ok, so I haven’t tried any other data recovery software but after using this one, I doubt I’ll need to look into other ones. The awesome program I’m talking about is Zero Assumption Recovery.
I was taking pics of random things yesterday with my new camera (woot! go G10!) and when I went to transfer it, stupid me deleted the whole card before moving the photos off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The new photos were shot on an old memory card so when I transferred it, the first pics I saw were the old ones so I immediately thought the pics were in another folder. Of course, not actually checking if the new photos were in another folder…I just highlighted everything and pressed delete. EHH!!!! The images didn’t go to my recycle bin (which I thought it would have…I don’t know why I thought that since it never does…lol) so I immediately started to google “deleted photos off memory card“.
I don’t remember how many urls I went to until I found it but THANK GOD FOR ZERO ASSUMPTION RECOVERY. After downloading and installing the program (which was super easy), I ran it and selected the “recover photos from memory card” setting and off it went. The whole thing took a little more than 1 hour and not only did it restore photos that I just deleted…it also restored 296 old photos that were deleted before! So basically the program restored 1.82 gigs of photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Out of the 504 photos I’d say about 25-30 of them were corrupt but I’m not complaining… saving 475 pics is better than nothing.
I love this software but I really hope that I never have to use it again…lol
ps. I forgot to mention, the program does renames/renumbers the photos so some of them won’t be in order. Most of mine were, but a few were out of place. Just thought you’d like to know
Oh yeah and there’s a free trial period too! Thank you Zero Assumption Recovery!

Well first I must say that categorizing Kimberly Tia only as a “Hot Blogger” was a tough choice cause this is one sexy girl and can easily go under “Sexy Peeps”… but since she has retired from modeling and has been blogging 24-7 nowadays, filing her under “Hot Blogger” seems to fit best.
So, I’ve known this hot momma for awhile now and has recently come across her very popular beauty blog Bat Your Eyelashes. When I saw it I was like “OMG it’s TIA!”. It’s definitely been a few years since I last saw her and chilled at her house. We shot a few times there and I got to enjoy her huge backyard and play with her 2 doggies, baby chameleon, and even her crab!
Since then much has changed for Kimberly and I got to chit chat with her a bit on AIM a few days ago. I also dug up some hot pics of her and decided to post them up so we can shock her makeup sorority sisters…lol

JenTV.tv: Hey Tia! Hi hi! Ty for doing this interview with me for my blog!
Kimberly Tia: Helloooooooo Jen and thanks so much for having me here!
JenTV.tv: Ahhahah you said ” hellooooooooooooooo” lol… If you actually scream loud enough I might be able to hear you.. I mean we don’t live that far away from each other.
Kimberly Tia: I know right?!??! lol
JenTV.tv: So it’s been 3 years since we’ve worked together! What have you been up to girl??
Kimberly Tia: Wow has it really been that long? sheesh how time flies huh….been really busy with beauty blogging and my online business.
JenTV.tv: I remembered that when I last saw you, you had just gotten started with the knitting hobby. Now that’s your business right??
Kimberly Tia: Yep, I cover wood for a living now, ha ha ha.
JenTV.tv: Ahahahaahah…k for people that might not understand what you’re talking about… what exactly do you mean by “cover wood”??
Kimberly Tia: The name of my business is Parfect Golf Covers, and ‘covering wood’ lol is tongue and cheek….
JenTV.tv: hahahha.. love the name… parfect.. ahahah. So do people buy them in sets or individually?
Kimberly Tia: Actually people can buy them in both sets and individuals. They even choose their color schemes…basically everything’s custom made with ‘tia elfin magic’.
JenTV.tv: Ohhh wow.. so guys actually care about color and stuff like that? I had no idea!
Kimberly Tia: You’d be amazed girl lol.
JenTV.tv: So while you’re busy doing the knitting thing you also blog about makeup right? How did you get started?
Kimberly Tia: Oh yes! It’s my addiction… I’ve always been ginormous fan of beauty products and makeup but was always so frustrated with results or the waste of money so I started blogging about various products I used personally, and reviewing them for the benefit of others.
JenTV.tv: Yeah I’ve noticed recently that there are tons of bloggers that do makeup reviews, tutorials..and post them on youtube. Would you ever consider doing some videos and posting them?
Kimberly Tia: Ha ha ha — I can’t see myself being a video diva, I’ll leave that to those experts, but it does look like fun — maybe if I had some skill… then sure!
JenTV.tv: Can you tell us some of the blogs or youtube channels you love to follow?
Kimberly Tia: Ohh gosh there are sooo, soo many! But if I had to choose, I’d say Pursebuzz, Fafinette, and Makeup by Ren Ren are some of my favs. Alot of those lovely video bloggers also have beauty blogs, which is also what got me started.
JenTV.tv: So are you friends with other makeup bloggers?
Kimberly Tia: I am! It’s like a secret sorority of makeup mavens. In fact this next weekend im attending a Xmas makeup pow wow in Huntington Beach with all beauty bloggers. A little over 25 beauty bloggers
JenTV.tv: Wow! Ahhaha I wonder what you guys will be talking about.. lol. ok so I must ask, what are some of your fav makeup products?
Kimberly Tia: Well my current obsession is Japanese and Korean skin care products. I would rather spend crap loads of dough on good skin care vs. the latest hot eyeshadow. Since I’m a beauty blogger on a budget, I prefer makeup brands like NYX, L’oreal, and for high end makeup lines I like Mac, Nars and Too Faced.
JenTV.tv: Do you have 1 product that you use all the time?
Kimberly Tia: I’m obsessed with le’gere bb cream, it’s absolutely amazing! Foundation, moisturizer, blemish cream, concealer… all in one, can’t beat it.
JenTV.tv: What the heck is a bb cream? lol it sounds hilarious!
Kimberly Tia: BB stands for blemish balm and its very popular in Korea.
JenTV.tv: Ohhh.. ahahah I’m such a noob. ahahahah Well are there certain products you just hate?
Kimberly Tia: Hmmm hate is such a strong word… lol — but I dislike anything heavy, greasy, or eyeshadows that just ‘fleck’.
JenTV.tv: Since you’ve modeled before and still have many model friends, have you ever considered becoming an makeup artist?
Kimberly Tia: I would love to are you kidding! — its like playing in your makeup with your best girlfriends…. the gossip and gab fests.. I’ve considered looking into makeup courses so watch out… u neverrr know!
JenTV.tv: Ahahah awesome! Well TY for chit chatting with me! Love reading your blog and maybe next time we can shoot again and update these pics!
Kimberly Tia: Well thanks so much for taking the time to interview lil ol me, and I would be honored for a Tia and Jen reunited photo shoot!

When I was a kid, the only pets I was allowed to have were fish. Actually they weren’t even my fish, they were my bro’s, but lucky me.. I got to feed them. Seeing how other kids had dogs or cats that could be held and kissed, I was always super jealous. It’s not the safest or cleanest thing for me to stick my chubby little hands into their fish home and touch them, but that’s what I did. I pet my fish.
My bro had 4 Oscars that were pretty small at the time and I would stick my hand in his 50 gallon tank and “pet” them. I can only imagine what the fish thought, but after every petting session I’d gladly give them some food and so I guess they tolerated the affection. Anyone that has had Oscars know that they get pretty big, so by the time they were the size of my palm I stopped petting them. I think it was the many times that the Oscars wanted to be fed first and tried to chew on my hands that really turned me off … AHAHAHAHAH. I guess they weren’t the best pets for a kid but I loved them and I still loooooooooove fish. I just can’t seem to keep my fancy goldfish alive nowadays so I’ve just stopped trying.
Well, loving youtube, I was searching around watching fish videos the other day and ran across this kit. It’s sooooooooooooo cool! There are various setups you can put into your aquarium and train your fish to play a bunch of sports. Your fish can push a soccer ball, swim through poles like those dog competitions, and a bunch of other things. You’ll just have to watch the video to see….cause I think it’s amazing.
