Introducing Gilly, our new cockatiel!

She’s around 8-9 weeks old, hand-fed, considered a cinnamon pearl, is super confident, and I LOVE HER! I got a call from her breeder last Saturday letting us know that she was available and since Jon was off from work we decided to go by. I grabbed our extra travel cage (usually used for transporting fostered kittens) and drove over to Long Beach to check her out and bring her home.
Her breeder had 2 cockatiel breeder couples (not sure if that’s the correct term) and 4 babies (all cinnamon pearls) available. As soon as we went into her sunroom we noticed that the babies were pretty scared (a few shaking in their cages) but within 2-3 minutes they were chirping and all pretty willing to step up onto our fingers. Gilly was the one that climbed onto my finger first and I noticed that she wasn’t scared at all. She immediately started to investigate my hand with her beak and though she was chirping at her siblings, she quickly calmed down and started to groom herself. I held the other birds but they seemed to be a little more timid and antsy.
After debating on which cockatiel to bring home (there was another one that was very pretty), I settled on Gilly because she just seemed the most confident. We paid, got some food to last quite awhile, and brought her home.
Here are 2 pics I took when we got home while she was still in her travel cage. I have some videos that I will be posting up soon so I’ll keep everyone posted
